FamilySearch Indexing has thrown down the gauntlet, and the challenge is on. We need 72,000 bright people to join an indexing brigade processing worldwide records between July 15 and 17. Let’s see what 72 hours can produce!
I began indexing Freedmen’s Bureau records for FamilySearch Indexing some months ago, and love it. This gives us the power to volunteer and make a difference from the comfort of home, any time of the day or night. And we get to see fascinating historical records before the rest of the world!
FamilySearch Indexing has, as of this moment, digitized and indexed 1,328,008,737 records worldwide, with nearly 12 million more nearly ready to release. More than 56 million records were processed in 2015 alone.
But now there’s a chance to make indexing history by bringing in 72,000 of us to index between July 15 and July 17. Think of how many more records will be available to us if we can make this happen.
Join up, GEGs. There was never a better way to give back.
